The first Michelin star for one Croatian restaurant, Monte in Rovinj, as well as Michelin’s recommendations for 30 other restaurants for this year are very important for the promotion of gastronomy and the overall tourist offer, and this international recognition is certainly an incentive for further development of gastronomy.

The French Michelin restaurant guide is one of the most renowned in the world, which recommendations are respected by both guests and professionals since it includes very strict criteria that restaurants must meet, and are controlled by Michelin inspections. Michelin announced yesterday that the first Michelin star is awarded to one Croatian restaurant, as well as the recommendations (the spoon and fork signs) for 34 more restaurants in Croatia (12 in Zagreb, 12 in Istria, and 10 in Dubrovnik), which put them among more than 2,600 special restaurants in the world.
