The promotional video ‘Ambassadors of Croatian Tourism’ by the Croatian National Tourism Board, which over short period has notched up a multi-million rating on foreign outbound markets, has won a prestigious award of ‘Travel Video Awards’ in the category 'Best Video by a Tourism Organisation' after the decision of the expert and representative jury of the American Citizine Network and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). Likewise, apart from the expert jury, the promotional video has also been recognised by the public who via the online voting of the Croatian promotional video voted it the best promotional tourism video of 2017.
The award-giving ceremony was held in the centre of Las Vegas, in the House of Blues, and the acknowledgement from Philip DeBevoise, the founder and president of the board of Citizine.tv was personally accepted by the director of the Croatian National Tourism Board Kristjan Staničić . “It was with great pride and joy that we received news of the nomination of our promotional video in the category for Best Video by a Tourist Organisation, and the winning of the award represents immense delight and satisfaction for us. This is confirmation that in the Croatian National Tourism Board, together with our partners, we are creating top promotional material which is internationally recognised and accepted by foreign experts, as well as by many fans of travel throughout the world”, said director Staničić, adding how he would like to send special thanks to all those who in any way collaborated in the making of the promotional video, and to all those who with their votes contributed to the winning of this valuable award. “Congratulations to all the finalists and nominees who presented their excellent projects. It is a matter of prestige to win amongst such strong competition”, added Staničić.
“This award is proof of the successful marketing positioning of Croatia in foreign markets and confirmation of the progressiveness in the approach of the presentation of the tourism potentials of our country throughout the world. I am extremely proud of my team at the Ministry of Tourism who approached this project proactively and innovatively, and together with the Croatian National Tourism Board, created the promotional video whose quality has been recognised by the world’s professional community”, stated the Minister of Tourism Gari Cappelli, and congratulated everyone who with their work on this project contributed to the presentation of Croatia as an attractive touristic destination which with its diversified offer on the coast and continent attracts tourists from all over the world.“The excellent placement of the promotional video is the result of the unity and joint work of the promotion of what is the best in Croatian tourism, and I am particularly pleased that we also wove a humanitarian note into it. I would like to take this opportunity to once again thank our sports men and women and artists, who collaborated free of charge in the promotion of our country and on behalf of whom we have allocated funds to associations who help and care for sick children and children with special needs”, said Barbara Mesić, chief advisor to the Ministry of tourism.
The awards were allocated in a total of 9 categories within which more than 360 submitted projects were grouped, and each category had 4 finalists. The CNTB’s promotional video won in the category of Best Promotional Video by a Tourism Organisation which had 44 applicants, and the shortlist consisted of promotional video works from Croatia, Peru, Columbia and Jordan. The award’s ceremony was also attended by the director of the CNTB’s New York office, Ina Rodin.
Also commenting on the award was the successful Nevio Marasović, the chief director of the promotional video. “After the fantastic reactions from the local and foreign audiences, I am extremely proud that our effort and enthusiasm has been recognised by Citizine. This award belongs to all of us, as well as to the whole of Croatia”, Marasović said. A partner in the project was theBBDO Zagreb agency whose executive director Luka Duboković highlights how the award represents a great acknowledgement for the whole of the creative team.
We should remind ourselves that the 'Ambassadors of Croatian Tourism’ was filmed in various familiar locations in Croatia and that 10 famous people from the worlds of sport and arts took part in it, amongst whom are Luka Modrić, Ivan Rakitić, Mario Mandžukić, Mateo Kovačić, Dejan Lovren, Dario Šarić, Marin Čilić, 2Cellos, Maksim Mrvica and Zrinka Cvitešić. With this promotional work Croatia is additionally positioned on the international market through well-known and successful figures, and besides the famous Croatian destinations, the video also promoted other forms of Croatia’s offers for tourists, such as the cultural-historical heritage, eno-gastronomy, active holidays, sailing, the natural beauty and other sectors of Croatian tourism.
‘Citizine’s Travel Video Awards’ is an organisation which was founded by foreign independent filmmakers and brands from around the world which awards innovative and inspirational independent, as well as branded videos.
