Šibenik – Knin County and the City of Šibenik hosting this year's “Golden Pen”

The Croatian National Tourist Board is organizing this year's "Golden Pen" awards ceremony, which will be awarded in the 19th edition to foreign journalists, travel bloggers and influencers for the best media publications about Croatia as a tourist destination in the past year.

The co-organizers and hosts of this year's award are the tourist board of Šibenik-Knin County and the tourist board of city of Šibenik, which prepared a multi-day program of visiting destinations, sights and attractions across the county for 32 foreign journalists, travel bloggers and influencers.

A rich program has been prepared for the guests, who come from as many as 18 countries such as Germany, France, Spain, USA, Canada, China, Great Britain, etc., which starts on April 18th and includes a tour of the town of Šibenik with a tourist guide. On day 2, April 19th, a tour of Krka National Park is planned, with a special emphasis on Roški slap, Skradinski Buk and Visovac. A tour of the Fortress of St. Nikola, as well as the Testament and Baraka wineries and oyster farms Oyster22, which are scheduled for April 20th. On the same day in the evening, the award ceremony "Golden Pen" is scheduled.

By awarding the "Golden Pen" award, the Croatian National Tourist Board highlights and valorises the value of positive and affirmative reporting on Croatia in foreign media, and expresses gratefulness and recognition to the media for their immeasurable contribution to the promotion of Croatian tourism in the world.

The well-known Šibenik artist Zvonimir Vila was creator of this year's "Golden Pen" statue, and used over 100-year-old oak wood to create the award. 

It is important to note that the prize, the Grand Prix "Golden Pen" will be awarded in five categories: for the best reportage in print or online media, for the best radio reportage, for the best television reportage, for the best travel blog and for the best post on social media networks.
