According to the data of the eVisitor system, which contains tourist traffic realized in the commercial and non-commercial segment and nautical charter, in July there were 2.44 million arrivals and 18.60 million overnight stays in Croatia, which represents 53% of the arrivals and 61% of the overnight stays realized in July last year . Foreign tourists achieved 2.13 million arrivals (50% of last July's results) and 15.70 million overnight stays (58% of last July's overnight stays), while domestic tourists achieved 325 thousand arrivals (91% of arrivals achieved in July last year) and 2 .90 million overnight stays (81% of overnight stays last July).
"We are in the first passing time. Considering the circumstances, these are excellent results and a good announcement for the August ahead. We will carry out increased promotional activities, both invitational advertising campaigns and those of an informative nature, until the end of August on the markets of Germany, Austria, Great Britain and Italy, considering that these are very important markets for our tourism, where Croatia is on the list of safe countries. It is still important to behave responsibly and adhere to prescribed epidemiological measures in order to maintain the status of our country as a safe tourist destination and get the most out of this tourist season", said the director of the Croatian Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić.
In July, the largest number of overnight stays came from the German market (4.43 million overnight stays, which represents 87% of overnight stays last July), followed by Slovenia (3.44 million overnight stays, 88% of overnight stays last July), Croatia (2.90 million overnight stays, 81% of overnight stays last July), Poland (1.60 million overnight stays, 79% of overnight stays last July) and the Czech Republic (1.42 million overnight stays, 72% of overnight stays last July).
The leading destinations in July according to overnight stays are Vir (711 thousand), Rovinj (619 thousand), Medulin (553 thousand), Novalja (486 thousand) and Mali Lošinj (475 thousand).
There are currently around 780,000 tourists in Croatia, of which 200,000 are German, 135,000 Slovenian, 130,000 domestic, 74,000 Polish and 46,000 Czech. The largest number of tourists currently resides on Vir, followed by Rovinj, Medulin, Crikvenica and Poreč.
By the way, in the first seven months of this year, Croatia recorded 4.11 million arrivals and 26.34 million overnight stays.
