The Croatian National Tourist Board and Croatia Airlines held a joint presentation of the entire Croatian tourist offer, i.e. the flights of the Croatian national airline, in Prague. Representatives of more than 50 Czech travel agencies and tour operators were addressed by Kristjan Staničić, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, Mato Radić, Head of Sales Market of Croatia Airlines for Central Europe, and Miodrag Mlačić, Director of the CNTB’s Representative Office for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Director Staničić presented the news and trends of Croatian tourism and he emphasized the importance of the Czech market for its overall results. "Croatia is traditionally among the most popular foreign destinations for Czech travel enthusiasts. The Czech Republic is among the top 5 markets from which Croatian tourism generates the largest number of tourist arrivals and overnights. This was the case last year, when Czechs in our country generated more than 5 million overnights, and this year we want to maintain that level of traffic. However, it will not be easy, the global travel sector is facing numerous challenges, and since we do not want to leave anything to chance, our goal is to further bring the Croatian tourist offer and news closer to our partners, but also to all potential guests who, I am sure, will choose Croatian destinations in large numbers," said Director Staničić.

Croatia Airlines took this opportunity to highlight and present the new seasonal route Zagreb - Prague, which was introduced in this year's summer flight schedule. Direct international flights on this route are planned three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from the beginning of July to the end of October this year.

"We are extremely pleased to have a direct flight connecting the capital cities of Croatia and the Czech Republic in our offer. These flights should be operated with the new Airbus A220 aircraft, with which we are successfully renewing the existing fleet. We expect a high level of interest and occupancy in both directions. This way we facilitate tourist and business arrivals, and we have also created very attractive packages so that tickets on this route can be found for as little as 129 euros. In addition to this new line, we will also operate seasonal flights Split - Prague and Dubrovnik - Prague during the season," emphasized Radić, adding that during this year's tourist season, Croatia Airlines will directly connect Zagreb with 23 international destinations, while connecting Croatia with a total of 30 destinations.

Miodrag Mlačić, director of the CNTB’s Representative office for the Czech Republic and Slovakia confirmed that Czechs will take price into account the most when choosing their trips and destinations this year. "Last year's price increase in Croatian tourism did not go unnoticed on the Czech market. Although our country is still perceived as a beautiful, safe and attractive tourist destination, tourism stakeholders must be careful when it comes to pricing," said Mlačić, adding that first-minute reservations went well, but that for the bigger picture it is necessary to wait for last-minute offers. The event that took place in the center of Prague was hosted by Czech journalist and CNN Prime News host Alex Hrdinová, and those gathered were also greeted by Zvonimir Sviben, Minister Plenipotentiary at the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in Prague.

It is important to emphasize that last year, Czechs achieved the highest number of overnights in Split-Dalmatia County (1.3 million overnights), Istria County (1.1 million overnights) and Zadar County (931 thousand overnights), and regarding the destinations in Umag, Vir, Medulin, Biograd na Moru and Poreč. In terms of accommodation type, the most overnights were recorded in household facilities (2.6 million overnights), campsites (895 thousand overnights) and hotels (795 thousand overnights).
